What’s the idea behind a Modern S?

       This is the new L.A. Guitars Modern S in Space Blue finish. It’s probably one of the best looking guitars I’ve ever seen. The Space Blue color, the mint green pickguard and the white pickups, in combination with the hard roasted maple are a perfect match.

       The neck profile is a mix between a Modern C and a 60s Oval C Shape. The thickness of the neck is 21,3mm at the 1st fret and 22,5mm at the 12th fret. It’s ideal for the modern player that wants a neck that feels thick enough without compromising playability.

    The fretboard was made with a carefully chosen piece of Brazilian Rosewood. It adds more resonance and brightness to the tone and feels smooth.

       The frets are Jescar Stainless Steel Medium Jumbo. The expertly rolled fret edges ensure a great playing experience.

       The neck and middle pickups are Diliberto Pickups ST Classic 69. They give you that classic vintage strat tone but still warm and low output. The bridge pickup is a Diliberto Pickups MHF (Mini Humbucker Firebird). The idea behind using this pickup in the bridge position was having a beafer tone for the heavier rock situations. It adds more compression than a traditional single coil.

     The Push Pull/Blender knob brings even more tonal options to the table. You have your typical strat combinations plus the splittable bridge pickup. You can also find new tones by using the Blender. When playing in the 1st and 2nd position, you can mix neck pickup signal by rolling up and down the blender. When playing in the 4th and 5th position, you can mix bridge pickups signal also by rolling up and down the blender. This allows you to have infinite tonal possibilities.
